New Starters to Reception

Dear Parents, Carers & Guardians of New Reception Starters,

We are writing to formally welcome you into the Linden Primary School community. Given the current situation with schools being closed, we wanted to try as best we can to reduce any worries that you may have about your child's transition into our Early Years Reception classes. We are delighted that you have chosen for your child to become a pupil at our school - we are really looking forward to spending time with you and them.

As with all schools, we are doing the very best we can to support pupils and staff during this very challenging time. The EYFS team are currently in the process of developing a really clear plan for moving forward with transitions. It is likely that we will be able to give you more information about this in June. This year's transitions are going to be a little different given the rules that may well be in place around social distancing.

We are hoping to provide you with information on how you can support your child's start to school life and what we can do to try our best for them. It is really important that you and your child feel supported during this time.

We are really looking to welcoming you to the school as soon as possible. In the meantime, please visit the website below to view various resources that we feel will help your child's transition into our Reception classes.

On this storage area, you will find a video tour of the EYFS area of Linden Primary School that you can use to help your child get used to what their classes will look like, there are welcome videos of the EYFS staff, transition help, guidance for early learning at home at much more. So please take a look.

We will continue to update you with any information we have during these ever-changing times.

Warmest Regards,

Mrs Collins and the EYFS Team
